Brown with orange highlights and a medium sized foamy head that left good lacing. Red wine, cherry, berry, yeast and booziness. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

A lot more wine barrel than there ought to be. Florals and some fig. Dark brown pour with good head. Light sweet finish with some oak and booze. Bottle.

Bottle - labeled as 8.7 abv - turbid purple - I’m generally a fan of oenobiers, having frequented Liberati here in Denver before they shut down (which was a sad day, indeed) - this one is okay, but at times comes across as a watered down Merlot rather than a mixed fermentation of grape and grain - some of the dubbel character shines at times, giving brief glimpses of rich maltiness and fig - more often the grape dominates rather than compliments - it’s still enjoyable, though.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver, vintage 2019, 8.7% ABV
Hazy amber colour, generous head. Honey, yeast, gentle fruit, it's moderately sweet, and smooth, but it also has some vegetable bitterness.
Weird and not very pleasant.

12 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy fark amber with a small off-white head. Nose brings out grape juice, some cheap vinous notes, and bready malt. Flavour is cheap and oxidized, with bready malt, herbal notes, and some bubblegum. This doesn't work well at all. Messy and harsh. Poor.

4 pack from brewery to sip by the lake wasting quarantine time always. Ruby tinged pour smaller head. Nose is dried fruit and vinous. Tastes of red wine, malt, plum, cherry, oak, some Belgian yeast, and leaf litter. Fruity finish. Interesting brew

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours dark brown with a decent creamy beige head. Aroma of red grapes over German-type (tmavy) dark malt. There's a fresh thing not unlike decent sparkling wine. Med body or so. Flavor starts with red grapes, develops some Middle European style roast malt and moves on to wood notes and gets a little more vinous. Should have had some Chimay cheese. This is great ale.

Dark red pour. Lot of lace around the rim. Sweet smell of grapes and similar fruit. The taste is sweet grapes, raisin, plums with warm fermented grape palate
