Chocolate, barley malt, and hay aroma. Dark chestnut brown with nice tan head. Moderately sweet chocolate, coffee, barley malt, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Good body.

Pint at Outpost 1706, with a lime. Pours dark brown, with a small, khaki head. The aroma is earth, cardamom, bergamot, light toffee, and grass. Sweet and malty, with a mild bitterness that is a bit off. Light, chalky, and clingy. Pretty fair.

I’ve a pint can purchased on our last visit to Santa Fe. And there is a globe glass in place to receive the pour. A dark brownish, red-amber body topped by a cover of light tan foam. It smells of grain, of course, and straw. The drink is not bad, actually rather decent in a style that makes it hard to stand out. Grain, some earthiness, paper, metal and a small caramel sweetness, very small. Refill the glass and add a slice of lime. Even better.

From Beer Drop, no dating on the can.
It pours brown with reddish hues, good finger of foam, good retention, good lacing.
The smell is light roasted malt, chocolate, hints of hop bitterness, maybe a bit of a nutty character.
The taste is chocolate, some nutty notes, mild roasted malt flavour, very light bitterness. When I swish the beer in my mouth, there is a light fruity note or two.
Fairly light bodied, good carbonation and mouthfeel.
Enjoyable.

From a pint can. Pours a clear pale mahogany with an ecru head. Aromas are of nuts and dank hay. Flavors are sweet toffee.
