The base beer of this multigrain Belgian ale was missing something when it was 'finished' so we wanted to take it a step further. The fresh Woodford Reserve barrels arrived around the same time so this beer and those barrels seemed destined to meet up. So the ale was missing something: AND BOY DID IT FIND IT IN THOSE BARRELS! A beautiful golden colour and if gold would have a taste: this would definitely be it.

Bottle. Orange pour. Aroma has sweet vanilla, bourbon, caramel, oak, banana, yeast and grainy malt. Taste of sweet bourbon vanilla, caramel fudge, oak, yeast ester, peach, malt and then some more bourbon booze. The bourbon is really heavy in this one, it tastes like an infusion or even a cocktail. Almost too much bourbon, something I did not know too be possible.

Bottle at home. Murky dark amber with no head. Big sweet grainy malts, sweet syrup, vanilla, citrus fruity, tripel yeast, breadiness. Big boozy barrel notes. Massive sweet and light bitter. Full bodynand low carbonation. Sweet syruppy barleywine-esque tripel.

7 3 7 3 15 Draft at Borefts Beer Festival '17. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of yeast, malt, oak, vanilla, booze and caramel. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation.

Thank you for sharing! Sampled draft @ Borefts 2017. Day 1. Served too cold but it also actually said that more politely at the stand. Hazy amber, orange, lacing white head. Nose is sweet bourbon, weirdly grainy massive sugar. Basic grainy oily overly sweet base but finish is lovely sweet bourbon. Grainy & soapy body. I like BA triple’s and bourbon makes everything better.
