Can at Beer Temple. Black with a medium tan head. Aroma of dark malt, chocolate, coffee and some pine. The same in the taste, also hints of spices. The body was almost full.

Can @ home. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium to full sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, liquorice, something odd like anise or something, slightly mint, dark malts and dark malt bitter. A bit odd imo and I don't like it. Meh. The anise really annoys me.

Can 355ml (Beer Republic, BB 11/21/201?)
Opaque colour, medium-sized beige head, some lace. Chocolate and coffee in the nose but also light earthy sensation. Medium-bodied. Chocolaty, roasted but soft. Even a bit milky. Cocoa powder, coffee and ash in the finish. Decent.

Pour is a complete black with a large tan head. Aroma is a decent roast with some coffee and bitter bakers chocolate. Flavor is a more intense roast and char malt with a nice bitter bakers chocolate left on the tongue. Not the most ground breaking Impy stout but this has all the flavors you are looking for and then some.

$2.90 can from Wine Warehouse. Pours dark brown, nearly black, with a small tan head. To be honest, I want my imperial stouts black and thick with a brown head. So this already falls short for me. Aroma is coffee, some sweetness. Flavor is ashy coffee, chocolate, and little else. Gotta say this is a poor excuse for an imperial stout. Sorry Champion- you’ve hit the mark numerous times... just not this time.
