Can from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, liquorice, caramel, soft spicy/herbal notes including laurel and mint, a touch of coffee. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Body is bordering on full. Nice quasi-Imperial Stout with lots of liquorice, dark chocolate and herbal notes. Just a little too heavy on the liquorice to be a true winner.

Opaque ruby brown colour, huge frothy tan head, good retention, heavy lacing. Aroma roasted malt, coffee, licorice, dark fruit, molasses. Flavour light heavy sweet and mild bitter, roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, licorice, bay leaf, brown suga, herbal notes. A lingering roasty bittersweet aftertaste, coffee groundings, earthy notes, spicy finish. Overall a pleasant stout, maybe a bit too sweet tastewise bit I can live with that's, very nice.

Sampled from a can this beer poured a black color with orange highlights and a large foamy brown head that left decent lacing. The aroma was roasty and woody with anise and coffee. The flavor was bitter and roasty with floral hops and coffee. Very long finish. Medium body.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice and relatively fast-dying tan head. Aroma of pure oysters, brine, salt, mint, grain and a super strong pungent roasty and yeast scent - along with some alcohol on the edges. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasty and burnt malt flavours with a lot of licorice, pitted fruits, cherries and a whole lot of brine and oyster notes throughout with some lighter caramelised sugars and grain on the edges. Aftertaste shows the roast, but a smooth sweetness from the caramel along with some licorice and some lighter mint notes with sassafras and a touch of the brine and more robust oyster pungency with some extra body, but the yeast and alcohol show through just about everything, especially at the end. Overall, a decent Imperial-ish stout with some quite pungent flavours, but a more subdued and softer malt prospect and especially with the body, but the sugars, the complexity and the brine are all very noticeable. Nice enough after two years, but not worth keeping this around, taking up cellar space compared to some others. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 28-January-2017 for US$1,99 sampled almost exactly two years later on 31-January-2019 at my house here in Washington.
