Classic Vienna lager with added toasted sesame seeds! Nutty, malt forward lager with crisp bitterness adds a gentle sesame finish.

Reviewed from notes.
On tap at C.H. Evans
Poured into a nonic glass.
Appearance: burnt amber color with a light transparency about it and a half finger's worth of white foamy head which dissipated at a nice pace to leave some light lace
Aroma: clean caramel/toffee malts, sweet grains, some floral to earthy tones and a touch of soft nuttiness
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine variety of sweet tones; finishes somewhat toasted grainy with a clean malty vibe
Texture: light to medium bodied with a good sessionability about it; good smoothness with not much distracting the flow
Overall: to me it's a nicely done amber lager but this sesame seed they say they added - I didn't really get that anywhere. Eh, oh well, I'd still revisit it and maybe next time I'd get it.

On draught 4/9/2005 at the brewpub. Yet another beer with no head and very low carbonation. I liked that all of their beers had very low carbonation, but this one took it a bit too far and just seemed flat, lifeless and watery on the palate. A reddish-amber color, with orange highlights. Clear. Aroma is nearly non-existant, a little crystal malt, light caramel, slightly metallic. Flavor is sugary sweet, though the lack of a very large flavor profile keeps it from getting cloying. Not much variation on the caramel, with some very lightly toasted grains, barely perceptible. Very watery consistency, would not be able to blindly identify sesame as an ingredient in this. Medium-light to light body, watery, no carbonation, sticky, unpleasant sugary syrup flavor on the end.
