Get it? Scream. Yep....
Nitro pint at the brewpub on 8/18.06.
One finger of dense, nitro-induced head is well-retained atop a cloudy, tallow colored body. Not much lace, if any.
Soggy, wet pils-like malt, though it’s hard to really tell if it’s pils or American two-row. It’s light, it’s got honey note to it, little, if any graininess. Minty, leafy, peppery hops seem an afterthought, but more likely, is just lost amidst the gassy nitrogen bubbles. Kind of like boddingtons, or something. Soggy, cardboardy, soily hops, hardly any bitterness.
The flavor dosent seem overly watery, for a nitro ale, especially a cream ale. So I will give it that. But there’s little here other than some honey and light pale sugar notes. Hops are too bogged down by the nitrogen and creamy-wet texture. Just gets filling, without much actual flavor. Ya....so, that’s about all I can stretch out of that beer. Who the hell puts a cream ale on nitro anyways?
