Draft. Dark mahogany beer with a dark cream head. Toffee and light smoke aroma. Toffee and light caramel flavor with light smoke. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee and caramel linger with light smoke and light dark fruits.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours clear coppery brown with a beige head. Aroma is smoky/malty - or malty/smoky. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is smoky dark malt with something like a mix of chocolate and fruity hop - but not much hop. Not very dry. Not very bitter. Still, it’s a very delicious ale.

Draught at the Taphouse in Burlingame. Clear reddish-brown with small white head that collars the glass. Pristine white head. Beautiful caramel and dark fruit aroma. Black cherry. Flavor is cocoa, crystal malt and Christmas fruitcake. A bit of ash at the death. Wonderful.
