330ml can packaged 3 weeks ago. Looks like I'm the first here not to review the cask version. Pours black, good sized frothy head, plenty of retention and lacing. Salted caramel, roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, lactose. Wow, what is there not to like! Smooth and not overbearing. Soft carbonation. Quite sweet but there is just enough bitterness in the finish to balance it. However the finish does have a slight astringent note. Apart from that this is an excellent beer, very enjoyable.

Handpull cask at the Queens Road Tap, Leicester as part of their Thornbridge Tap Takeover weekend. Dark brown, almost black, almost no longer translucent. Film of light tan head on top. Sweet and creamy aroma with fresh caramel, vanilla bean, a little milk chocolate. Nicely balanced taste on this one: the sweetness at the front of the sip gives way to a bramble-heavy bitterness, balancing the beer in the finish. Aftertaste is a touch too astringent considering what came before, but it's still pretty spot on.

On tap (cask) at Thornbridge Peakender, Bakewell, Derbyshire Friday 17th August 2018 in the company of Dad, Pauline, Isobel, Ferret and Emma. Pours dark brown with a large off white head. Smooth, fudge, soft, creamy, very easy drinking. Certainly has some Ice Cream like qualities, starts great but tails off after a while. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
