29/11/2025. Bottle at the ITFC beer share. From Hoptimism. Black oily pour, no head. Aroma is woody, black treacle, liquorice, dark malts, chocolate, berries, lightly smoked. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness, touch tart. Medium body, oily. Finish is more smoky. Low carbonation.

Bottle ordered from Premier Hop, Pudsey. Black and oily. Zero head. Aroma of dark chocolate, liquorice and booze. It's roasty. Underlying molasses. All through a smoky haze. Sour vinous and dark berry flava. Bitter streak, a real dark Chocolate edge. Underlying fruity sweetness. Pungent smoke throughout. Heavy bodied. Oily. Average carbonation. Long finish. Not in fact what I was expecting. Not a complaint, it's just that the vinous and sweet elements were unexpected. A warming sipper.

Bottle from Hoptimism. Appearance - opaque jet black with a fawn crema. Generally seems like low carbonation. Nose - blackberries and dark chocolate. Booziness. Taste - more booziness again, backed up by dark berry fruit or prunes. And rich dark chocolate very present too. Palate - full bodied and sweet. Overall - a little sweeter than ideal but suits the style I suppose.
