Our 8% Double India Pale Ale Baboon is our biggest beer yet! A big whirlpool charge of Citra and Simcoe followed by a humongous 20g/l dry hop of Galaxy, Citra & Simcoe. With the colour of peaches expect a pillow soft mouthfeel with aromas and flavours of tropical fruit, passionfruit, apricot, citrus and grapefruit. A great combination to show off the New England beer style.

Bottled by lowcostbeer. Murky light caramel appearance (a bit like baileys) with consistent white head. Hoppy aroma of tangy citrus, flora, 'green' hops. Taste is more subdued for me, lacks something. Up front there is tangy citrus, light spice, some malt, earthy green hops but a rather none existent finish except for a slow build up of moderate bitterness. A little light in the body for 8% compensated in part by making it a refreshing citrus noted beer. Mixed by DIPA standards.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light pale malts, a light creamy sweetness. Crisp pine, a light but reasonably bright citrus, mildly chalky. Modest hop spice and a little hop peel bitterness. Light crisp finish. Hop spicy linger. Tidy.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a murky peach with minimal scummy off-white head but good lacing. The aroma has tropical fruits and floral hops. Tropical fruits again in the mouth, along with oranges, thick cut marmalade and mango. Some alcoholic strength comes through as well. Finish is fruity but slightly dry. This is OK, but not my sort of beer at all.

Keg (bottled) from Smiling Grape, St Neots, Cambs. A hazy golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, peach, mango, tropical fruit, taste/aroma. Really easy drinking and refreshing on a spring afternoon in the garden, not overly complex but I liked it.

Can thanks to an erstwhile colleague, in fact boss's boss, who now lives close to the taproom. Pours milky yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of light tropical fruit and citrus. Taste is more of the same. Light sweet finish. Ok.

Can ordered from South Downs Cellars, Haywards Heath. Aroma has spice, onion and an earthiness. Underlying stone fruit. Hazy pineapple juice yellow. Foamy white head. Medium bitter. A resinous, spice flecked, bitterness. A touch of low key citrus sourness on the periphery, which gains some prominence into the finish. A hints of onion, but I clearly have onion in the brain today. Better than smelling toast, I guess. Medium bodied. Creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. I like - the relatively restrained aroma was a hint to a lazy DIPA that's satisfying rather than in yer face.
