Honey Wee Heavy

Friends of the brewery Claire and Shaun love bees and their bees love pollenating flowers and producing flowers. Some of their honey went into this beers to help add to the delicious raisin and toffee flavours of the malts we used. We love beers too and £1 from every can sold directly from the brewery will be donated to the British Bee Keepers Association Save the Bees Appeal to fund research into the threats honeybees face.

Can bought at the brewery. Aroma combines honey and almond sweetness with slightly sour dark fruit. Opaque dark brown - caramel in the light. Frothy beige head soon fades. Medium sweetness which is tempered by a sour edge and some bitterness. In this case it does what it says on the can. Raisin and toffee with added honey. Dark fruits. Malts. A burnt edge to the toffee adds bitterness. Thick bodied. Creamy. Sticky (well, it does contain honey). Flat-average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Lovely stuff. The honey adds to the beer rather than adding too much sweetness.
