Blonde. Dual hopped.

Pale blonde with gorgeous flavours of lime, grapefruit, bright orange, mango and lychee from bittering with Citra hops. Late use of Nelson Sauvin gives a fruity gooseberry aroma. Two great hops!

Other than the one I'd already had, this was the beer from the Thursday night Virtual Salford Independent Beer Festival box that I had the least interest in. A 3.9% blonde amongst the existing progressive beers from the other breweries. Aroma is tart gooseberry as advertised, with underlying malts. A hazy or rather cloudy pale amber-gold. Frothy translucent white head. Medium-heavy biter. The stone fruit, lime, etc, are there but it's rather quinune so the fruit is lost in the bitterness. Underlying malts add cardboard. No particular fruit sweetness. Light bodied. Thin but slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. It's an OK blonde. At least the bitterness saves it from being tedious. The fest beers will hopefully get better.
