Our 300th gyle was destined to be a big, straight up imperial stout. Rammed full of dark malts giving lashings of bitter dark chocolate.

Can, online from the brewery. Pours black with a beige/tan cap. Aroma: dark chocolate, roast, boozy. Taste: moderate sweet & moderate to heavy bitter, dry, chocolate, mocha, sour dark fruits. Medium body with fine carbonation. Wasn't a fan.

Keg at Steel Tank Taphouse, Chandler's Ford. Rich boozy chocolate aroma. Dark. Thin creamy beige head. Light bitter with some sour dark fruits. Creamy mocha. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long finish Some astringency. But for an Impy Stout it's somewhat nondescript.
