We wanted to make a modern beer with a traditional base; a mild is perfect for our purposes and we took that deep, malty, balanced amber/brown beer and added two additional elements: honeycomb and world hops. German, American and NZ hops contribute depth of flavour and bitterness.
Brewsters have been using honey in beer and mead as a sweetener for tens of thousands of years and the honeycomb we used in Boca 45 adds a little extra sweetness to this pint. The honey leaves a dry finish to the beer, with a big malty aroma, a dry biscuit nutty flavour, some bitterness and a smack of honey.
Beer #2 of the Vinyl Series: 3 beers, 3 speeds brewed in time with Bristol music.

Cask-conditioned at the brewery's tap room, Ashton Gate, Bristol 28/2/2019. Amber in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Berry fruits, some sweetish malts, leafy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Cask at the Waterloo Tap, 15/02/19. Clear golden amber witha a decent light beige head that retains well ... good lacing ensues. Nose is dried fruits, hint of red berry, straw, light tobacco. Taste comprises dusty fruits, toffee, biscuit malts, light red berries, sweet edge. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough cask offering.

Cask at Waterloo Tap. Sweet spicy malty aroma. Light amber. Frothy white head. Light bitter with sweet caramel. Light-medium bodied. Thin. Average carbonation. Abrupt fiish. OK. Note: had to add it and now see that it contains honey which in hindsight makes sense in term of how sweet it got.
