Our brand new citrus IPA is exploding with bright citrus aroma and flavor. Creating an exciting new variation on our flagship Loose Cannon, TropiCannon clocks in at the same 7.25%ABV as its cousin, but packs a full blast of blood orange, grapefruit, mango and lemon flavor. We’ve downplayed some of Loose Cannon’s piney-ness and amped up the citrus by swapping Centennial and Palisade hops for Amarillo and even more Simcoe. We’ve introduced dried grapefruit, orange and lemon peel in the brewing process and added mango, blood orange and more grapefruit post-fermentation.

Bottle, but from the start call this imperial IPA, please. Clear pale. The nose is pleasant topical fruit aroma supported by volatile IPA hops. In the first taste however, those hops kick your face first and then the tropical fruit notes kiss you on the lips. Each swig is the same, first a punch in the palate then the sweetness. Hey, this is like make up sex, ten times in one session. Thick and viscous but it has pretty good co2 for a change, something lacking in most double IPA. Finisn is what else? Just a big fresh ruin your taste buds effect for the next 30 mins. Whewwieeee. Way too much personality for this lager lover.

Bottle from Consumers Beverage. Amber/orange pour, small dissipating foamy head.. Huge melon aroma, mostly cantalope. Taste too reflects the big tropical flavors. Not too sweet, and with a pleasant hop bite at the finish. Braced for the worst, but really enjoying this.

This beer is a clear orange-gold color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Tropical fruit, hops and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, resiny hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a blood orange and hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

12oz bottle-retaining foamy white-gold. A-perfumy/citrus-fruity pebbles. T-follows with a meh hop finish (towards metallic).

Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark bronze color with a large foamy orange-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was papaya and passionfruit. The flavor was dryish with strong papaya and passionfruit followed by pepper and yeast. Very long finish with lingering passion fruit. Medium body. Meh.

Tap at Gambrinus. Pours a clear orange-gold with a finger of foam that dissipates quickly. Fruity pebbles, blood orange, tangerine & lime. Light & citrusy, fruity pebbles cereal. Light finish. Light bodied. Hmm, not sure about this one. Lots of fruit, but some malt backbone too. --- Beer merged from original tick of TropiCannon on 06 Feb 2017 at 19:48 - Score: 6.
