On tap at Uba ja Humal, pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty to leathery smoke, tobacco, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is very sweet and even more spicy, with intense chipotle peppers, almost sickly sweet syrupy notes, and some smoky, tobacco-like notes. Over-the-top in sweetness and spiciness—please just dial both back. There’s a good beer here but it’s ruined a bit by the brutality of the underlying elements.

Canned. Black, small head. Aroma of honey, chocolate and bell pepper. Very sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Honey, barbeque sauce and caramel with extra syrup. Intense smokey chipotle heat in the finish.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Strong chipotle, smoke, dark malt, smoked jalapeño. Wow, spicy. Sweet flavour with a long spicy smokey finish. Full body. No balance whatsoever, but honestly manages to communicate a genuine BBQ marinade aroma.
