Hazy but dry... Juicy but bitter...

Up Against It is a Pale Ale inspired by some of the modern approaches to this style from the Pacific North West notably Cellarmaker. Brewed with a lean malt base and fermented dry with a lager yeast to minimise esters and provide a platform for the hops to shine.

Dry Hopped with Citra, Ekuanot and Chinook to provide fresh squeezed grapefruit, juicy pear, fresh pineapple and kiwi aromas with a lychee, tropical but slightly herbal taste and just a touch of bitterness which will have you reaching for another sip.

Keg at Anchor Tap, Croxley, Herts. A hazy golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, grapefruit taste/aroma. Quite a thin pale ale, it's fine.

Keg at Heidrun HW, 23/02/24. Moderately hazed golden yellow topped with a white head that thins to a swirl and edging. Nose is orange zest, grass, melon, papaya. Taste comprises citric tinged straw, tangerine, melon, papaya, grass, orange pith, light breads. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with balanced lighy juicy cone grassy hop bitterness. Okay easy drinking pale if not one to revisit.

Cloudy yellow gold with a bubbly/frothy white head and a citrus fruit aroma, with a hint of pine. Grapefruit bitterness right up front, sweet citrus, some pine with hints of light malt pulling through and a dry finish

Part of a three beer flight on 7th February 2024, Tap & Can, Shrewsbury. Third of a pint (keg) it poured a cloudy pale golden colour with a good white crown of foam. Citrussy from start to finish with grapefruit to the fore aroma and flavour wise. Very similar to plenty of other cloudy citrus beers on the market to be honest.
