Première Batch est un clin d'œil aux débuts de notre brasserie. Celles et ceux qui suivent la brasserie depuis le début se souviennent de nos premières canettes de 950 ml au design pour le moins épuré. Nous voulions ainsi rendre hommage aux fameuses ” grosses cans ”qui ont contribué à nous faire connaître au début de 2018. Première Batch met en vedette des houblons américains classiques utilisés en quantité faramineuse (Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo et Simcoe).

(473ml can from the brewery webshop, thanks Luc for the assist!) Pours opaque dull gold with a decent creamy white head and lace. Aroma of sweet and slighlty funky pineapple juice, ripe mango, rich estery sort of fruitiness that is hinting at banana, sweet citrus like oranges. Flavour is quite sweet up front but oh so juicy, huge notes of mango and peach nectars, pineapple, smooth orange oil and pulp, hints of ripe banana esters, floral backnotes like lychee, soft dough-like malt support, semi-drying finish with very low orange peel and fresh grass bitterness and low hopburn. Medium-full body, very oily, softly carbonated. Beautiful DIPA, so well-balanced throughout the sip. Certainly will be a bit sweet for some, but for me this is sweetness done right in that it all just accentuates the juice.

Can: Poured a cloudy/hazy yellow color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of juicy hops notes with some citrusy hops floral undertones. Taste is also dominated by huge citrus undertones with some floral citrusy undertones and some residual sugar notes. Body is full with nice smooth texture with good carbonation. Solid NEIPA with good texture.

Second of only 3 beers I got from this spring batch of 8 new ones - within 2 minutes of my order done, 5 were already sold out. Really !? Smooth mouthfeel, juicy with some building dryness in the finish. Pineapple aromas with the citrus hop base. The taste shows some more citrus zest with the bitterness. A little spiciness appears quickly and gone. Quite an easy-drinking, all well-blended Double IPA. If you do not want reviews on here, and be in the top beer for the style - this is the way to sell you product.
