One-third pint, keg, guest beer at BrewDog Liverpool. Low white head over a red-brown colored body. Spotty lacing. Ripe citrus aroma. Malt-fruity flavours, impression of marmalade, slightly perfumed. Masked alcohol. Surprisingly easy to drink (02.02.2015).

Keg at the Cask, Pimlico, 26/11/14. Chestnut brown with a decent beige swirl floating atop the glass. Nose is rich dark fruits, cake mix, light booze tunes, candied fruit peel, toffee, spice. Taste comprises yeast esters, dates, pear, candied fruit rinds, burnt caramel. Medium + body, fine carbonation, light warming alcohol in the close. Solid enough Belgo/Quad like effort.

Bottle, Londis, Penny Lane, Liverpool. Hazy dark red pour with a medium off white head. Sweet, fruity nose with a little booze and spice lurking. Complex flavour with a plethora of fruits, alongside notes of spice, sweet malts and yeast. Warming alco hit, but ABV nicely smothered. Very solid hop bitterness which elevates this very skilfully. Ballsy, flavour packed, innovative. Loved it, this has loads going for it. Cracking stuff from hands down Merseyside’s best brewery.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark chestnut pour with a tinge of red, big beige bubbly head, big fruity aroma mostly of the stoned variety, fruity taste plums, cherries, a hint of caramel some background yeast notes, quite bitter seems quite high on the IBU’S, overall an excellent Belgian interpretation.
