GOLDEN, LO-FI, GRIPPY // The culmination of blending several batches of mixed future beers, long, cool aging on whole cluster, muscat berry casings and extended contact in well seasoned white oak. Showing structure and integration, this mixed-culture sour is layered and bright.

A hazed golden ale with a very thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with ground cherries, grapeskin, Brett, light lactic notes, very nice. In mouth, a nice mix of tart fruit, ground cherry, light lactic notes, light Brett, light buttery notes, very nice. On tap at brewery.

On tap at 33 Acres, pours a hazy dull copper golden with minimal head. Aroma is sharp, with lots of acidity, plenty of grape must, a touch of citrus, and acetic / vinegary notes. Flavour is fairy acetic, with plenty of balsamic vinegar dominating, followed by musty grape skins, and a touch of funk. That acetic character doesn't seem well-calibrated. The grape character is nice, and the oak comes through decently, but there isn't the cohesion or elegance that I'd hope for with something like this—plus the acidity is too sharp. Nice attempt.
