A dark brown porter with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits and caramel, oxidized, tired. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, molasses, caramel, vanilla, light oxydation, OK.

Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a dark brown color with a foamy eggshell white colored head. Nice speckled lace.
The aroma had some caramel and roasted malts, touch of sugar.
The flavor was basically the same with some burnt toast to it. Sweet malty to almost sugary aftertaste. Quick sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation. Pretty smooth along my tongue. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, I can see it as suggested by the brewer, but did it really come together as expected? In my opinion, not as much. It wasn’t bad, it just seemed to lean sweeter than I had hoped for.

A respectable porter - opaque with thin white lacing - coffee-ish aroma - coffee in the flavor as well, some chocolate, a hint of spice and a touch of hops - finish is a little thin - not southampton's best, but quite good.
