The Little Mac by West Avenue is a funky, upbeat offering that is a single varietal from the Macintosh apple. Creamy flesh, tannic peel with lots of trub (particles), as it’s unfiltered. Has layers and depth of the single fruit, instead of presenting characteristics from various apple types (as some other single varietal ciders can). So a singular flavour mostly throughout, but it shows tannic peel notes at one time and creamy apple flesh at another. Different but yet still familiar than the straight fruit itself. Elevated but one of West Avenue’s most approachable offerings.

473mL can, pours a clear amber, no head. Aroma has a nice red apple skin character and light farmhouse funk. Flavour is fairly dry, with a solid tart red apple skin character, light farmhouse, and a toxic of hay. Nice tart, dry finish. Good stuff.

A golden cider with aroma of sweet apple jam, light acidity, light mineral notes, light Brett. In mouth, a nice tart mix of sour apples, light Brett, light lactic notes, very nice. Can from Kichesippi Beer.
