Canton draught, 12/22/24.
Clear blonde-brass. Small, smattering of white head.
Same lovely yeast as their recent Belgian stuff. Need to actually determine if this is the same thing as the Belgian Pale they recently released (not under the Permutation line). Tons of pear, honey, black pepper. Mellow, no clove-banana-bubble gum (or very little of it). Very aromatic.
Same thing in flavor with maybe a bit more earthiness and white pepper. But that mineral and heavy pear is just phenomenal. This is a bit more cracker-forward and lighter-bodied than I recall the pale being. But still plenty of malt (especially for its size), clean and flavorful. Wish I knew what yeast this was (or maybe it's just a cooler fermentation). --- Beer aliased from original tick of Belgian Blonde on 08 Nov 2024 at 20:01 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 9 | Flavor - 9 | Texture - 10 | Overall - 8.5. Original review text: FP draught, 11/8/24. Clear, golden-flax. Small, creamy, white head. Soft, fruity, herbal nose with lots of pear and no crude phenols/esters. Quite brightly aromatic with a bit of biscuit and cracker in support. Soft, pear-forward yeast with black pepper and fresh herbs. Soft dough and dainty honey dance in the palate with excellent depth and attenuation. Not sure where they pulled this yeast from but it's stunning, wow.
