Magnum shared by raf. Thnx! Pours clear, red, small white head. Smell is full, fruity, red grapes. 'T is full, fruity ( red grapes) intense, sharp, tart,... Everything you can hope for in a good fruitlambik. This is to the level of the cantillon grape lambics, but with even more balance. Awesome beer ! Edit : Apparently made without grapes , but with red peaches ( vinyard peaches ) . It had a lot of grape-like fruityness to me ( but hey, I barely eat fruits so what do I know ) which explains Why i prefered it so much over a bokkereyder beer with actual grapes ( I was wondering why they were so different, since I had thought this one was made with grapes as well )

Bokkereyder lambic made with an old German peach variety known as ‘Roter Weinbergpfirsich’, so called because it has been cultivated in the wine-producing regions of Germany since the 16th century; an old variety enjoying some renewed popularity lately, this peach has blood-red flesh and juice like red wine, which equally contributed to its name. Thanks to the Dutch beer geeks for sharing a bottle at Foeders in Amsterdam during Carnivale Brettanomyces. Pale pinkish, moussy and surprisingly stable head lasting for a long time over a hazy, deep fuchsia red beer. Nose is overwhelmingly red fruit flesh and juice, ripe red peach indeed but in being less familiar than the more popular yellow peaches, also pointing at ripe red raspberries and redcurrant; notes of grenadine even, no doubt established by the extremely generous dosage of red peach fruit, blood orange, lemon juice, unsugared yoghurt, whipped cream, sesame seed, peach skin. Again a truckload of ripe red ‘wine peach’ in the mouth, again reminiscent of pure red raspberry juice as well with a fruit acidic, lemony edge but inherent fructose sweetness as well, not all eaten by the wild yeast yet; supple, even slightly creamy mouthfeel, lactic sourness but in a mellowish kind of way yet still enough so to dry the mouth; some tannic peach skin (and lambic barrel) effects in the end still drenched in luscious fruit acidity, with a light lambic earthiness in the end. Another sublime Bokkereyder, utterly generous in its fruit dosage, to the extent where the lambic finesses are even a bit overshadowed.

Pale red and hazy. Aroma and flavour have a lot of sour candy. Sour peaches. Dry and lightly woody in the finish. Really unique.
