Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours dark amber with an average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma initially somewhat skunky but after a few moments much improved developing rich malt, caramel, dark fruits and yeast. Medium to heavy sweetness, very light bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Pretty good effort at a Vienna.

Bottle from Lupe Pinto. Appearance - deep amber brown with a nice lacy head. Nose - sweaty fudge. Malt bag and light rye spice. Taste - rye spice and general cake notes. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - on a day like today this was a bit of an oasis.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear mahogany with a thin white head. Aromas of sweaty malt sack, toffee. Taste is light spice, rye bread, more toffee. Clean finish.

From the bottle. Sweetish malt. Moderately hazed copper wi H white head of small bubbles. Taste is thin malt with slight noble spicing. Lacks richness.

Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours copper amber with a slight white head. Malty aroma with a possible touch of noble hop. Near med body. Flavor is bready caramel with a hop touch making me think of purple grape drink - not exactly Concord tho. It’s an ok drink for the style.
