Bottle to tulip. Oily viscous black with brown head that fades very quickly to only a collar. Peat and sweet aroma. Party and powdered chocolate dominate flavor. Roast finish with moderate ash retaining. Retained sugar.

A black beer, a head is quite small and light brown. Aroma has liquorice, peat, richness and sweetness of malts. Taste has liquorice, richness of malts, quite sweet, the barrel is less noticable than in the aroma, some peat. Almost full bodied, not stickyness. Some added value from the barreling but otherwise, too sweet and simple.

330mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is super potent on the smokey, peaty Islay barrels, smoked meat, and leather. Flavour is amazingly complex, with smokey, peaty Islay upfront, moderate roast, some caramel, and more decadent smokey peatiness. Incredibly deep and complex - the Islay is just phenomenal here. Brilliant.

Draught @ 9th. BBF 2017 [ 9th Borefts Beer Festival 2017 ] @ Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands. [ As Põhjala Cellar Series - Pime Öö Islay BA ].Clear dark black brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark malt, roasted, chocolate, peat, smoke, wood. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration, wood, smoke, peat, dark malt, chocolate, light alcohol. IMO. to much peat to me. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20170922] 7-3-7-4-14

Tap@Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, London - pours black with a tan head. Roasted and sweet malty with rich chocolate, some sweet caramel, treacle, charred brown sugar notes, burnt dark malty nuances, some great whisky wooden infused accents into the finish.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Tromsø - Langnes. Delt med EgilB på Øverhøgda 4 Des 17. Svart. Middels høyt mokkafarget skum. Aroma av torv & kaffe. Smaken torv & whisky. Veldig bra - men litt uvariert.

Draft at Salud. Black color small brown head. Wow peaty aroma. Sweet boozy whisky roasty peaty taste. Wow. Great balance and complexity and the barrel doesn't overwhelm.

Dunkler, stark rauchiger Antrunk. Weiche süße Noten, schokoladig, Whisky.Vollmundig, feine Karbonisierung, komplex mit Noten von Rosinen, Gewürzen, alkoholischen Tendenzen. Langer Nachhall, der in seiner Art wie der Mittelteil bleibt. Schwer, gut. 8/14/10/11/12/12
