On tap at Beer Revolution. It pours black with a light brown head. The aroma is intense with burnt toast, some bourbon, coffee and cocoa. The flavor is toasted, coffee, hints of bourbon. No brownie-like sweet chocolate dessert that I usually get with this kind of beer. The coffee character is also somewhat subdued, but pleasant. Well balanced flavors with some soft toffee notes throughout. The body is reasonably medium for the gravity. Good.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown/black with a beige head. Light coffee and bourbon aromas. Med + coffee. Flavor is coffee which is rather overcome by chocolate and bourbon. Heat also interferes a bit. Overall it suggests (somewhat) a chocolate liqueur candy. The flavors are very well blended. Quite delicious.
