Bottle (enjoy by 6/4/20 for optimal freshness) pour from Lazy Dog Beer Shoppe. Appearance is clear, dark ruby red with nice sparkle, 2-finger beige, creamy foam head with excellent retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt, chocolate cookie, vanilla and lactose. Taste follows aroma and is a good facsimile of cookies 'n' cream in beer form. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with velvety, then frothy texture, soft carbonation, suggestion of alcohol warmth and finish as taste with no bitterness. Overall, it delivers what it sets out to. Still some semblance of beer here vs. just a cookies 'n' cream milk shake. Enjoyable dessert beer.

12oz bottle. Massive beige head on top of a brown black body. Pretty much what I hate about new school beers, heavy lactose, cheesy cookies and cream flavor. Uninspired, sugary, lacks real malt body or any semblance of finesse. Drinkable at 8.2%, doesn't come off Imperial which is OK, but still, what an embarrassing trend pastry stouts are. This is for kids, or adults who don't appreciate real beer.
