Draught at Lulu’s, 6/17/16.
Light haze to the straightforward golden body. White head atop is medium-sized and shows moderately strong retention.
Hops jump out quickly, adding nectarine, pineapple, tangerine and some stronger white grapefruit. Juiciness definitely enjoyable, with biscuity/crackery malts behind it that seem rather strong/grainy. There’s a strong buttercream element which I mistook for honey-like base malts mixing with other malts.
In actuality, it’s just a ton of diacetyl. Buttery as all hell, with some scratchy and bready malts underlying the fruity and citric hops. High carbonation, moderately engaging with no alcohol. I can forgive a little bit of diacetyl, but even past the huge amounts of it here, the malts are way too bready/flabby. Moderate sugariness lingers as well. Yikes.
