Draught at Tip Tap Room, 6/1/16.
Solid pour as always from this brewer/series. Thoroughly hazy, bright orange-copper with strong golden hues and a white head that is medium-sized and shows moderately strong retention.
Lemon, thyme, more random fresh herbal notes and minor white grapefruit combine with a soft orange juice, light mango and more easygoing tropical notes. The slightly grainy, crackery malts in the background stay mostly out of the way, as light acids and more citrus play about on the finish, pleasantly.
Soft, easygoing, malty texture with high attenuation but still just enough sweetness. Tight carbonation and tons of very subtle tropical notes with grass and light herbal qualities. Definitely much more reserved than the other three beers in the series, but it’s also got less (no) resin/acidity (not that that was a problem with the others, really). So for some softer, lighter, more subtleties, you get a little less explosive juiciness overall, but I’m more than fine with that trade off. Doesn’t sound like we’ll be seein’ this one again any time soon, however.
