Draught at the brewery on opening night, 4/1/16.
Dark ebony, with indeterminable clarity and a tan head atop that is large but fades steadily to cover.
Continuing the trend of their beers being significantly rushed, this one had a massive glue aroma to it. Behind that there’s a light char, salt, and milk chocolate character that seems fairly appropriate for the style.
In the mouth, notes of peanut brittle, salty toffee, char and cocoa powder seem rather messy and there’s no real soft maltiness or base malt character. Just a lot of random flavors jumbled together. Some roasted bitterness on the end cleans things up somewhat but there’s alcohol lingering lightly, as well. Moderate carbonation.
