Draught at the brewery, 4/8/17.
Well-polished copper with darker amber hues and a high clarity, topped by a beige head that is full and shows moderate retention.
Fruity malt notes show off ripe berry with very light toasted bread and hints of sourdough behind it. Lots of black pepper and dried herbs from the hops which keep it bright and very dry overall. As it warms softer honey-tinged caramel creeps in and lightly softens things, but the breadiness remains strong throughout. No alcohol or flaw.
Toasted bread, plentiful grain, dry toffee and plentiful spicy herbs mix with red fruits from the malt and lots of freshly baked sourdough-like character on the finish. Quite dry, though with plentiful maltiness keeping it soft enough and engaging carbonation keeping it crisp on the end and drinkable.
