Draught at City Tap, 2/2/17.
Light blonde with some deeper golden-bronze hues, good clarity and a small, but moderately-well retained white head.
Fruity and lightly herbal in the nose without the heavy pine and resin that I remember the base version having. That was probably three years ago almost, and Jacks Abby’s hoppy beers have become a lot less bitter than they used to be (see Hoponious Union). Fruity and very lightly juicy with sparse malting and no alcohol or flaw.
Juicy in the mouth, though very light, dry and tapering off in to pepper, light grapefruit and lots of grassiness. Light bread and biscuit from the malts, with no alcohol or flaw, low to moderate bitterness and no resin.
