Draught at the brewery, 8/11/16.
Hazy, golden-light-amber body is topped by a white head showing moderate retention.
Big honey malt character displays another of their (golden promise/maris otter) malted DIPAs. Unfortunately, there are significantly less hop notes in this than in the similar Dad Pun. Just a ton of malt sweetness, breadiness, vanilla, honey, graham cracker...No alcohol and I guess some vaguely fruity, lightly citric hop notes.
In the mouth it’s very sweet, soggy almost and massively underhopped. Low on bitterness, with vague grapefruit, marmalade and apple/strawberry character. Very soft, malty texture with engaging carbonation, but just no where near the balance needed.
