Draught at the brewery, 3/9/18.
Deep copper-auburn, glassy, with an off-white head atop showing low retention.
Pine, red grapefruit, peach and papaya show off lots of stiff PNW hopping in the nose. Softer orange spice, marmalade and lemon emerge but again, as with many of their beers, the malt is a bit bready/crystal-heavy. Some sharp esters and resin on the finish with strong citrus spice and marmalade lingering.
In the mouth it's lightly sweet, but drying quickly with strong bread and iced tea-like crystal malt. Somewhat hard in the texture with grain and husk coming through. Peachy-citrus and strong tea-like spice lead to pine and more grapefruit with light resin and sharp ester. Honey-vanilla emerges on the very end, after warming, but seems a bit too little, too late.

32oz growler pours with a clear copper body that supports a nice light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy hops, earthy tea, some citrus hops and then crystal malts. The taste delivers a pleasing blend of grassy hops, earthy tea like hops, some floral and then a dash of citrus. It’s all so well integrated with snippets of malt sweetened flavor hops riding up against a firm degree of various bitter hop notes. Well done.
