Bottled 11/29/17, drunk 2/27/18.
Light-to-moderate haze, with a bronze-amber color. Huge, white head showing strong retention.
Leafy, lemony hops are joined by crackery malts and older, orange and spice-like marmalade notes. Strong orange rind and herbal tea character with lilac/lavender perfume. No sign of the darker colored malts, or oxidation nor any resin or booze.
In the mouth it's full of honey, papaya and peach twang (rather heavy) with orange, grapefruit and lemon. Not really bitter but strongly vegetal and twangy/tangy. Soft, malty texture with good attenuation and engaging carbonation. These guys are definitely making great beer. Just need to dial-in and work on the hop character in some of their beers. Lots of papaya, earth, pith, ash, marmalade, lemon oil and light mango. Certainly excellent for three months old (I didn't hang on to it, but just freshly bought it from Craft Beer Cellar). No booze, very clean.
