Draught at the brewery, 1/19/18.
Light straw-blonde, slight hint of chill haze and a frothy white head atop showing moderate retention.
Grassy hops and peppery phenols mix together though the yeast is actually quite nice and true to CBC's house yeast, doesn't show clove or banana or bubble gum or any such nonsense. Malts are light, crackery, staying mostly out of the way. Some melon and peach are noted with no alcohol, resin or flaw.
In the mouth it's quite dry, with a "chewy", adjunct grain-like texture and soft enough malt showing biscuit and light cracker. Plentiful carbonation and grassy hop bitterness with melon, pear and apple from the yeast sitting on the finish. Pepper and grass are a pretty classic Belgian pale ale combination and they work tried and true here. Very straightforward, competent hoppy pale ale with no flaw or alcohol.
