Cask at the brewery, 12/13/17.
Minimally hazy, pineapple-golden with light maize tints. Small white head sits at cover.
Light lactic character mixes with Brett and hop-derived tropical fruit notes of pineapple and guava. A bit grassy on the end, not sure what from. Cracker and biscuit below everything with some sweaty funk, tangy, fruity acidity and no alcohol.
In the mouth it has a soft-to-grainy texture, good attenuation and engaging carbonation for a cask. Fruity and sour acids mix with lightly artificial gummy sour candy notes. Cracker and such on the finish mixes with pineapple and more tangy acidity. Softens somewhat as it breathes, but I'm not sure the candy adds anything more than novelty here. The cask was in spectacular condition and it was very cool to try a sour on cask.
