This savory beer, brewed with sweet potatoes, rosemary and a touch of smoked malt is the perfect companion to turkey, roasts and other holiday fare.

Draught at Ginger Man, 11/9/17.
Glassy amber-chestnut with lighter maize highlights and a beige head atop showing moderate retention.
Ultra-soft, clean, light woodsmoke in the nose is easily backed by clean, "sweet" vanilla-honey base malt character as just a touch of floral and spice notes enter the mix, not overly rosemary-redolent; certainly not dominant or heavy and perfectly matched to the smoke and malt. Soft Belgian esters provide apple, pear and other various fruits which further lighten the mood and deepen the complexity. No alcohol or flaw.
Incredibly soft, malty, yet well-attenuated and with an ultra-fine carbonation, the texture couldn't get much more perfect. Soft wood smoke underscores spicy rosemary character with succulent honey-like base malts. No hard/grainy/husky specialty malts, no astringency/surplus of acidity from yeast or herb; just a phenomenally well-made, balanced, highly flavorful beer.

Pours gold into a tulip. Bright white head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Marshmallow and herb aromas. Medium bodied with spring flowers and band-aid front to back. Dry lasting funk finish. I like this one.
