Draught at Picco, 9/19/17.
Moderately hazy, pale, straw-golden with light brass hints. Big, fluffy white head atop shows moderate-to-strong retention.
Brett is foremost in the nose as light juniper hints enter on the sides. Soft, bready malts lie behind it with a zesty, white pepper and lemon skin-like yeast character coming through the middle and landing on juniper tartness, strong pepper and soft Brett suggesting even a touch of tropical fruit. No alcohol or flaw.
Soft and well attenuated in the mouth with bread and biscuit-like malts, hints of honey-vanilla and lots of spicy, berry-like character on the end. Brett behind it adds light lemon-lime and the tight carbonation concentrates very light tartness on the end. Pretty nice stuff, not exactly sure what a Norwegian saison is, but this is dry, has a great texture and has zero focus on hops for a change.

Lord Hobo, Cambridge tap: pours light gold with a white head. Aroma is soft flowers and candy sugar... very much a saison. Taste is dry and flowery. Light body. Quite good.
