Draught at the brewery, 9/15/17.
Clear, light, peach-tinted amber-golden with a thin, off-white head of low retention.
Base malts secure a strong background with a bit of caramel and fruit suggestion from the specialty malts. Hops are light and provide only a touch of grass and herb character. No flaw or alcohol.
Soft, malty, well-attenuated and providing mostly honey and white bread-like character, tending slightly sourdough-like on the finish, with red fruit, dusty, herbal-like hop notes and, prickly at times, ample carbonation. Fine, unexciting, rather ubiquitous brewpub German lager. But the malting is taken up a notch from your typical pale lager.
