Draught at the brewery, 12/23/18.
Bronze-copper-tinted honey, clear, with an off-white head that quickly fizzles away.
Earthy, biscuity, lightly toasted malts with pepper, light honey and clean, but mineralesque water. A touch of floral/herbal hop but very low on that front. Not hugely aromatic but it's light and I like how the malts have character and stand out.
In the mouth it's got a very strong honey-like sweetness that I'd guess would be actual unfermented honey (it's not). Black pepper phenols suggest maybe a Belgian yeast, though it's on the cooler side of fermentation. Not even all that fruity, though again the malt is nicely forward with biscuit, cereal, toasted barley and honey. Lingering spicy phenol and hints of noble hops. Low, engaging carbonation and appropriate wateriness on the finish. Indeed light and drinkable.
