12.4.18. Lightly hazy maroon-chestnut. White head quickly falls to ring. Oh yeah. Big red wine notes rise up alongside of melanoidin-like fruitiness with strong wood and almost a cranberry character resulting from tannin and acid. Spice, bourbon and vanilla grow strong with warming. Oh Jesus, that's a lot of bourbon....heavy spice, vanilla and alcohol yet not overdone on the coconut and pineapple, though it's there. Dry and a bit sharp on the end. Fruity, at least, and there's a substantial, malty texture for the raisin, prune and caramel to sit on. But it's very bourbon dominated. Wait, is this a BdG??
