Draught at Townshend, 11/11/18.
Clear, bright, light-golden, with a medium-sized, white head that slowly falls to cover.
Nose has flowery, herbal hops, very light but showing a pinch of light, rounded citrus, as well and light bits of cereal and cracker - seemingly well-attenuated. Very light overall, but mildness isn't so bad for a golden ale. The malt and yeast is clean with no heavy sugar nor any buttery or other off-notes. No alcohol noted.
In the mouth I get both floral, spicy hops that ease in to cracker and other various dry grain notes, with low but fairly engaging carbonation and just a touch of soap on the very end. The malt is well presented and attenuated and adds light touches of honey here and there, but is otherwise snappy and leaves a crisp finish in concert with the light bitterness. Very easygoing and approachable, but not thin, watery and flawed as so many golden ales are. It seems like they actually put some effort in to this one, which is nice.
