A blend of farmhouse ales aged (on average) for two years in wine barrels. For Avalonia: Ruby, a portion was transferred atop a blend of Montmorency cherries, red raspberries, and red currants from Norse Farms. For folks that enjoyed Avalonia: Red, Ruby will be very familiar but the currants add a wonderful flourish with flavors reminiscent of cranberry or rhubarb and an impression of dryness that balances the intensity of the other fruits.

Draught at Armbsy, 4/22/22. Good clarity in this bright, ruby-cranberry-colored beer. Pinkish-flecked, off-white head atop is small, but somewhat dense, showing good retention for the style. Nose is beautifully expressive fruit without any intense raspberry acidity that sometimes dominates raspberry beers. Even, well-lagered bacteria/yeast character with mineral and various tart funk. Malts are fairly sparse but do show some wheat-like biscuit/dough. No alcohol or flaw. In the mouth it's tart, but not too much so. Fruity, bright, playful and well-aged with an even temper and a soft, malty/wheaty texture that helps soak up some of the sourness. Touch of sweet dough with playful, bright raspberry and juicy cherry. Brett is well-developed and highly enjoyable.
