500mL bottled 4/1/21, drunk 3/17/22. Dark ebony with good clarity and cola tints. Tan head is small, rapidly fizzling away. Nose is a healthy, balanced mix of cocoa and tart, bright strawberry. Good acidity and yet the darker stout notes add a deeper, softer roast with vanilla and fudge accents. No alcohol or flaw. Love the tart, bright strawberry character. In the mouth it's soft, well-attenuated and shows a mix of tart fruit, cocoa powder, vanilla and dark chocolate. Malty and dry with a great balance. Takes a second or two to accustom the palate to the mix of imperial stout and strawberry sour, but I think it's a balanced blend that expresses two nicely complementary notes.
