This imperial milk stout was aged in ex-bourbon maple syrup barrels and finished off with some extra maple syrup and vanilla. A nod to the eponymous Vermont Maple Creemee, Maple Sumi Snow Creem is warming, rich, and just the right amount of sweet, with a viscous and oil-slick mouthfeel.

500mL bottle pour, source, 1/15/22. Undetermined dark. Tan head quickly to ring . Big maple-vanilla notes with stiff milk chocolate and light but not sharp alcohol. Barrel softness and a hint of oxidation with lingering sweetness. Maple-black pepper. Watery. Good balance of flavor but man, maybe I'm spoiled by Trillium stouts but this feels so thin and watery. Boozey with strong pepper and roast.
