Serendipitously born out of a misinterpretation of "Little Brewster", our Small Bird Series of mid-strength Pale Ales offer classic heightened Trillium aromatics, on a refreshingly soft drinkable canvas. Pairing New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops with PNW-grown Strata, Mini Mallard is the latest addition to the flock.

Presenting a hazy golden yellow, we're greeted with juice-forward notes of fresh fruit salad, candied pineapple, and zesty citrus. Finishing dry, with a kiss of grapefruit-like bitterness, a pour disappears deceptively quick.

Draught @ First Draft, Chicago IL (Nov 2025). Hazy dull yellow with a small frothy off-white ring of head, citrus-grape aroma, medium carbonation, mildly bitter orangey taste with faint grape flavor, thin watery body, long finish. Tasty but thin and watery.

Half pour on tap at Henry St. Taproom, Saratoga Springs. Cloudy, dark yellow, thin head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong citrus, hint of vegetal/grape and background malt. Taste follows aroma. Smooth, frothy texture, medium bodied, lively carbonation and dry, malty finish. While not expecting same hops from an APA vs. IPA, lack of Nelson is disappointing. Ok.

Pours a hazy gold from a tap. Big citrus, grape and tropical fruit aroma, similar flavor. Rather thin in the mouth though. Pretty good beer.

Can from Fort Point. Pours a cloudy light yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of onion with some dank citrus and a bit of marijuana underlying. Flavor is full of dank citrus and onion with some marijuana and a hint of sweet grain backing.

Pours a opaque yellow with a small white head. Overwhelming aroma of Sauvignon, vaguely fruity, tropical pineapple notes. Taste has resinous tropical notes, woody elements. Palate has flag malt, hop oils. Disappointing.

Pours a hazy, lemon-banana yellow, with minimal head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruit. Flavor is citrus, grass, tropical fruit. Very dry finish, with some hoppy bitterness. Mouthfeel seems about right for the style.

Draught at Fenway location, 6/24/21.
Moderately hazy, pale-straw with a small, white head that shows moderate-to-low retention.
Wow, that's a wacky nose. Almost getting some funk here and it seems very yeast driven unless these hops are also giving off heavy minerality and earthiness. Light white grape/champagne on the finish is lovely and the malts seem very well-attenuated, providing only passing sweetness and mostly biscuit/cracker. No alcohol or flaw.
Soft and supple in the mouth and quite dry, but with some passion fruit and guava-like character from the hops in concert with a touch of honey-like malt. Engaging carbonation and the tell-tale champagne/white grape of the Nelson. Really nice stuff and drinks more flavorful than the abv suggest, I think.

Pours hazy light gold into a nonick. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Melon, pear and mango aromas. Crisp and dry with soapy citrus, pineapple and melon upfront turning to hot tangerine and resin in the dusty, lasting finish.
