Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 15/12/23. Murky orange with an off white cap that settles to a healthy swirl. Nose is bitter orange, raw pineapple, guava, pine resin, mango pulp. Taste comprises bitter orange, dank chimes, grass, hop spice, grapefruit, mango. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close spiked with resinous come dankened hop bitterness. Decent bitter leaning DIPA.

Canned 11/1/22, drunk 11/6/22. Turbid concrete, which, more and more, I'm associating with the best quality NEIPAs, so, here goes. White head quickly to ring and spotty cover. Oh yeah, that's galaxy alright. Juicy and fruity with good minerality and white wine. Not the best expression of Galaxy ever, as there's a bit of a preponderance of pine/spruce, but it's still better than most this year. In mouth it's earthy, fruity, juicy, with lots of mineral but more soil-like in total. I like how rustic it is, but I can't help wondering if our best Galaxy and Nelson (or really, NZ and AU) hop harvests are behind us. Farms get bigger, climate change worsens and it just seems to get worse and worse. I can't remember any Nelson or Galaxy releases in the past 2-3 years being better when they were initially released. This is still nicely attenuated, malty and juicy. A bit too much gooseberry and unripe red currant, as Nelson and Galaxy are apt to produce these days.
